Whaling is the hunting of whales for their foods and oils. Whales seemed to have an infinite supply till around the 20th century where a big decline in whale population is present.

Pollution is many things that humans cause, trash, smoke, oil spills etc., pollution effect the climate and the area surrounding it including the animals the oceans, lakes and even the people that live in highly concentrated polluted areas.

Population increase unavoidably brings more greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, and as we hit our first billion people, which was a big jump, things rapidly got worse. As the population increases, waste increases, consumption of resources, fossil fuels, and food production increases as well.

Global warming is long term heating of the earth's climate system; this is due to human activities. The burning of fossil fuels which causes an increase in the trapped greenhouse gases causing sunlight to come in trapped in the atmosphere making it hotter.

Overfishing is when company’s use big nets to scoop up big schools of fish and with them get many unneeded fish that get thrown out. Overfishing has damaged are oceans ecosystem by depleting the ocean of many needed fish for it to survive.

Deforestation is clearing of forest to use the timber to sell and make goods such as paper and cardboard. Deforestation in the rainforests have left many of the animals without a home causing them to move and go into cities, this is where you see people having encounters with tigers and uncommon things like that. Cutting down the trees also cause carbon dioxide which the trees absorb and create in fresh breathable air. It also cause much of the soil to erode and can lead to animals extinction.

A chemical plant discarded methylmercury poisoning in the water which fish and shellfish live in. The where intoxicated due to the waste that was dumped in the water, humans then ate the fish and shellfish and caused them to be poisoned or infected with this disease.

A woman by the name of Rachel Carson wrote a fable about how DDT is affecting wildlife, domestic pets, insects and so on. In this fable she also ask for people to be careful and be responsible with what they are doing to the earth.

The spill had a severe impact on marine life in the channel, killing an estimated 3,500 sea birds, and other animals like dolphins, seals, various fish, etc. The accident happened because of a well blowing out during drilling. The oil spill also damaged the pH levels of the water and killed plants. 3 million gallons of oil were spilled in this incident!

At a pesticide plant in Bhopal, India 30 tons of highly toxic gas were released into the air during the night. This spill caused somewhere for 3,800 to 16,000 people to die. After 30 years the chemical is still showing effects with kids being born with disabilities.

One of the deadliest tsunami’s ever, happened in Indonesia in 2018, and caused massive amounts of damage to people, the environment, and impacts on their resources for months/years to come. Approximately 437 people died, and many more were injured, along with the fact that 611 homes, 69 hotels, and over 400 boats were destroyed.

A man set fire to an animation studio in Kyoto, Japan. This incident killed atleast 33 people and dozens more were injured. This let out so much greenhouse gas and therefore pollution.
