The Environmental movement is a big group of people trying to make the world cleaner. They are doing this by fighting to stop air pollution, water pollution and to save endangered species and just wildlife in general. -
Rachel Carson
Rachel Carson wrote a book contributing to the environmental movement to say how terrible some chemicals could be to the environment. This was a start to the movement in the first place and also helped there case haveing a book educating people on what's bad. That was a huge help and what she did to contribute to the cause. -
Cleveland's Cuyahoga River chatches fire
The Environmental movement had fought for the Cleveland's Cuyahoga River light on fire. Due to all of the pollution in the water, it lit on fire. This was what the environmental movement used as an example to show how bad things were getting and because the had an example they used it to move forward in there fight. -

This was a huge event in which applo 8 sent men to the moon. I t was successful and we had the frist man on the moon. -
Richard Nixon
Richard Nixon also contributed by founding the Environmental Protection Agency and signed the clean air and water acts. These acts are some of the results of the good work of the environment movement and a step toward what they were working for. That is how Richard Nixon contributed to the Environmental movement. -
Clean Air Act passed
There were two acts past because of the movement which were the Clean air act which is a law that says there must be no more than a certain amount of emotions and no more for health. -
Clean Water Act passed
The other movement is the clean water act which is pollution control for the water. This was also a huge win for the movement because the had made progress to make the world cleaner by these acts. -
Vietnam war peace talks signed
The Paris Peace Accords, officially titled the Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Viet Nam was a peace treaty signed on January 27, 1973, to establish peace in Vietnam and end the Vietnam War. -
The Rainbow Warrior was sunk
The Rainbow Warrior was sunk this was to prevent the ship from interfering with a nuclear test in the Polynesian Island of Moruo. This was another great example that would help the fight and with more evidence the more they could fight. The movement would use this once again and it would help there case, even more, to advance them in there fight. -
Chernobyl plant in Ukraine exploded
Chernobyl occurred when reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine exploded and highly radioactive dust went into the atmosphere. Around 336,000 people were evacuated and there was an increasing number of cancer incidents this happened on April 26, 1986. This showed lots of people that what the Environment group was fighting for was worth it. To have the chance to make the world cleaner and to stop things like that from happening again is what they say and fought for.
