    The wall of a containment pond gave way at Tennessee's Kingston Fiosill plant. The spill infiltrated the Emory River and knocked a home completely off its foundation. Th plant's byproducts included arsenic, lead, chromium, manganese, and barium which were released into the atmosphere. e The estimated clean up time ranged from weeks to years.

    One of BP's oil riggs exploded off the coast of Louisianna killing 11 crew memebers. Two days later the rigg sank deeper into the ocean and busted pipe lines at the bottom of the ocean. The oils was leaking into the ocean at 5,000 barrels a day. One month later it was staed that oil was actuallly spilling into the ocean at 12,00-19,000 barrels a day. As much as 30 million gallons of oil leaked into the ocean making it the largest oil spill in US history.
