    Edmund Husserl was born on April 08, 1859 in the town of Prossnitz in Moravia.
  • Early Academic Career

    Early Academic Career
    Edmund Husserl studied mathematics, physics, and philosophy between 1876-1878 in Leipzig. Between 1878 and 1881 the furthered his studies of mathematics in Berlin. He completed his work in Vienna from 1881-1883 in Vienna and received a doctorate with a dissertation on the theory of the calculus of variations.

    Husserl published his first volume known as Ideas. The resulting perspective on the realm of intentional consciousness is supposed to enable the phenomenologist to develop a radically unprejudiced justifications of his/her basic views on the world and themselves and explore their rational interconnections.

    Edmund Husserl is one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. His contributions touch on almost all areas of philosophy and anticipated central ideas of its neighboring disciplines. Prior to Husserl, the objects or contents of experience had always been studied with reference to their behavior either in the physical order oriented around the body of the percipient, or in the psychical or psychological order oriented around the mind, memories and emotions of the percipient.
