    Japanese forces invaded China because of past incidents between the two. Once invaded japan even created their own state. This event only lasted around 5 months because the Japanese left.

    German term for lightening war. This was when they would use heavily armored vehicles and planes to destroy the enemy base/vehicles. This method was used during WW2.
  • Fall of Paris

    German forces invaded France by mobile operations. They also conquered Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and obviously France. This gave the allies less land and a lot more for Germany.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Two waves of Japanese planes dropped bombs onto the naval known as Pearl harbor. This killed thousands of Americans and made the american people hate all Japanese people, whether they lived in California or Japan The Japanese attacked so they could try and obtain the most powerful navy in the world. Right after this event Hitler declared war on the US and we were put into the war.

    The Allied invasion of Normandy in Operation Overlord during World War II. The largest invasion by sea in history, the operation began the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control. Contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front.

    Was the code for the operation that was not ever carried out during the war. The plan was supposed to take out 220,000 casualties most of them being major German officials. This was never carried out because the plan was thought to not work or go right.

    The Battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle in which the U.S. Marines landed on and eventually captured the island of Iwo Jima. This five-week battle comprised some of the bloodiest fighting of WW2 and in the Pacific.

    Code named operation Iceberg, the battle of Okinawa was fought in the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. This battle included the most amphibious assault in the pacific during the war. The US had sunk one of the Japanese most important submarines, later ending in a victory for the Allies.

    German forces finally surrendered after years of leading the fight in WW2. Giving the US and Britain and the other countries allied with them a major sigh of relief. VE day is still "celebrated" in the US and Britain.
