Unfortunatly, at this time, mexico had control over texas which would cause some problems later on.

    On March 6th 1836, Davy Crockett died trying to protect the Alamo Fort fir the Texas Republic. He was killed by Santa Anas troops because Mexico wanted control of texas but he died in a hard fought battle for what he believed in. This is probably what Davy Crockett was most famous for in his carrer.
