This battle was a Japan invasion. After losing 4 aircraft carriers and many skilled pilots the Japanese abandoned the invasion. They were unable to obtain Midway and were unable to recover from their losses. Japan was not able to control the Pacific.

Hitler attacked the Allied forces in bad weather catching them off guard once the weather cleared the Allies were able to take an offensive position again by using bombs as well as the army. This opened up the door for Allied invasion of Germany. This also brought down the morale of German Soldiers.
