  • First Calculator

    Pascaline was the first calculator or adding machine to be mass-produced and used. Between 1642 and 1644, the French mathematician-philosopher Blaise Pascal designed and developed the Pascaline.
  • First Computer

    Charles Babbage created the first mechanical computer, The Babbage Difference Engine, in 1822. The ABC code served as the foundation for the modern computer that we all use today. The ABC weighed more than 700 pounds and was powered by vacuum tubes. It had a rotating drum, about the size of a paint can, with small capacitors on it.
  • The First Telephone

    Alexander Graham Bell, credited with inventing the telephone, changed the course of communication as we know it. Bell received his telephone invention on March 7, 1876. A few days later, he made his first phone call.
  • First Cell Phone

    The Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was the first cellular phone that could make extended calls than a landline phone. Making a call did not necessitate the use of any lines or cords. Dr. Martin Cooper made the first cellular phone call in 1973.
  • First USB Drive

    The first USB flash drive was filed in April 1999 by Israeli firm M-Systems.  Trek 2000 International, a Singaporean company, also started selling it's own 8MB 'ThumbDrive' that year.
