    • 1957. William Levittown owned a company that built low costing communities and was recognized for a community known as Levvitown. This community obliged conformity since the homes, educational system and many other lifestyles needs had little to no variation between each of the families.

    The United Nations was founded in 1945 by 51 countries that wanted to work together to progress and change the alliance of international peace and security, promote human rights, nurture development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid following World War II.

    This generation was a period of time where people in society were encouraged to buy homes and move into urban areas to settle down and have families in hopes to put the past behind them. Also, the families were in high hopes of a more stabilized future, which ultimately created a demographic swelling in society. The baby booming generation reaches from approximately 1946-1964.

    Soviets' decided to cut of ties and went as far as cutting for roads and even railroads to keep from West Berlin from mixing with East Berlin. Hence, for approximately a little under a year the U.S. utilized aircrafts to transport food, medicine, gas, and other exports to them in order for them to endure this hardship In May 12, 1949 the blockade was removed by Joseph Stalin.

    Joseph McCarthy was the senator of Wisconsin who believed in false accusations, named McCarthyism, to gain attention and throw off alleged accusation. He heightened the fears of communist influence on American institutions and spread knowledge of surveillance by the Soviet Union.

    Rosa Parks sat in the white section of the bus and refused to get up when asked moved and was arrested as a consequence. Hence, this movement was named the Montgomery Bus Boycott and was the turning point for segregation between blacks and whites.

    This race was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to see who could get first to space. Soviet's won by sending up a satellite by the name of Sputnik. Hence, President Kennedy got concerned and thus created NASA.

    This event began as a result of Fidel Castro overthrowing the Cuban dictator by the name of, Fulgencio Batista. Castro alliance with the Soviet Union, which caused the U.S. to retaliate when the Cubans landed on the Bay of Pigs. All enforcers sent to attack and stop this invasion were killed or captured since their equipment failed.

    John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Nov 1963 and Lyndon B. Johnson took over as 36th president and since he was a long time member of congress he already knew the in and outs of the government. His political idol was Franklin Roosevelt and he set very ambitious programs to be remembered as an impactful activist in America. Nevertheless, he was important to history because he diffused the Cuban Missle Crisis mentioned in another date on this timeline.

    This crisis was known by many different terms: the missile scare, Cuban missile crisis, Caribbean crisis, and the October crisis depending on where one lives. American discovered that the Soviet's had undetected technology arrive in Cuba; therefore a 14-day confrontation was held between the Soviets and Cuba vs. the United States. This was the first time a nuclear conflict was close to arising and the first documented mutual assured destruction.
  • Hawk and Doves

    Hawk and Doves
    Hawk and Dove were superficial characters designed for a Comic Book made by DC Comics. It was a superhero-team of two how had contrasting personalities which opposed ideologies. Much like the comic book, president Johnson spiit the U.S. into two camps: the doves who were people who wanted the Americans out of Vietname and the hawks who were people who wanted the Americans to stay and fight Vietnam. Moreover, Doves represented reason and nonviolence, while Hawks represented force and aggression.

    Apollo 11 was launched as a mission to get astronaunts safely onto the moon. Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldin, and Michael Collins were the first three space explorers to accomplish this.
