  • Yalta Conference

    It was the World War 2 meeting where important people in the government from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union discuss about the reorganization of Germany and Europe (postwar) on Feb.4 - Feb.11, 1945 in Yalta, Ukraine. It brought free elections to countries.
  • Potsdam Conference

    Where the "Big Three" Heads talked about the german economy, punishment for war criminals, land boundaries and reparations in Cecilienhof, Potsdam, Germany.
  • Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombing

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki are cities in Japan. Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed for military reasons and was not bomb raided by the U.S. Nagasaki was bombed on August 9.
  • Molotov Plan

    (This didn't have a date but a year) The Molotov Plan was made to provide aid for countries that need to rebuild. Also that are aligned with the Soviet Union.
  • Truman Doctrine

    A foreign policy made to cancel out the soviet's expansion during the Cold war. Was talked about in Greece.
  • Brussels Treaty

    This treaty was to show that western European states could cooperate. Was signed by Britain, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. They signed in Brussels, Belgium.
  • Marshall Plan

    American initiative to aid western Europe. The U.S gave 12 billion dollars to rebuild Europe after the end of WW2. Was made in America.
  • Berlin Blockade

    An attempt by the Soviet Union to prevent the Allies (U.S, Britain, France) from travelling throughout Berlin. This happened in Berlin, Germany.
  • NATO

    NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) is 29 North American and European countries military alliance. Made to defend from the Soviet Union. Made in Evere, Brussels, Belgium.
  • Soviet Creation of Nuclear weapons

    This is when the Soviets started making nuclear weapons. Eventually testing their first nuke. Was made in Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan.
  • Korean War

    The Korean War was a war between North and South Korea. This took place in Korea.
  • Stalin's Death

    Stalin died at the Kuntsevo Dacha. Cause of death was Cerebral Hemorrhage. Near the town of Kuntsevo.
  • Fidel Castro taking over

    Fidel Castro took part in the Cuban Revolution to take over Cuba. He funded a paramilitary organisation to overrun them. Happened in Cuba.
  • Warsaw Pact

    Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance. Composed to the Soviet Union and Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania. Made in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Vietnam War

    A conflict in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from the fall of Saigon. Took place in Vietnam.
  • Hungarian Revolution

    A nationwide revolution against the Hungarian People's Republic and its soviet policies. Took place in Hungary.
  • NORAD

    North American Aerospace Defense Command, a system to provide aerospace warning, air sovereignty, and protection for North America. Stands at El Paso County, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
  • Bay of Pigs

    A failed attempt to reverse Fidel Castro's Cuban Revolution. Happened in Bay of Pigs, Cuba.
  • Creation of the Berlin wall

    Constructed by the German Democratic Republic, to cut off west Berlin from east Berlin. Made in Berlin, Germany.
  • End of the Cuban Missile Crisis

    America discovered a ballistic missile by the Soviets. Deployed in Cuba. Ended in Cuba and the Caribbean Sea.
  • Nuclear Arms Treaties

    A bunch of treaties on Weapons limitations. Such as Anti-Ballistic Missile, Partial Nuclear test, etc. Was signed in Moscow, Russia; London, UK; Washington DC, United States.
  • Afghanistan/soviet war

    The Mujahideen fought a guerilla war against the Soviet Union and the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. Happened in Afghanistan.
  • Solidarity in Poland

    The government tried to destroy the martial law and several years of repression. Poland signed the treaty to allow its existence. Made in Poland.
  • Berlin Wall falling

    The Berlin wall got demolished to pave the way for German reunification. Happened in Berlin, Germany.
  • Czechoslovakia revolution

    Demonstrations made against the one-party government of the Communist Party. Non-violent revolution. Happened in Czechoslovakia.
  • End of the Cold War

    The soviet union dissolved into its component republics. The iron curtain fell and the Cold war ended in Afghanistan.
