Hollywood Ten
In this moment in time being caught or assumed a commuinist was bad. The gonvernment chose the "top ten people" that they assumed or knew were communist told everyone to not hire them or accept them. Because of this people could not get hired anywhere,become famous, get books published,get movies out,etc. -
HUAC
A committee that held hearings on the film and entertainment industries from 1938-1958. Congress has two reasons for holding these meetings: to obtain information useful for crafting legislation and to oversee the executive branch of government. -
Yalta Conference
The Yalta Conference about how the Big Three agreed that Poland,Bulgaria,and Roamnia would hold gree elections. But Stalin later reneged on this promise. Roosevelt and Churchill were not in a good position to press Stalin too hard.The Red Army already occupid much of Eastern Europe, and Roosevelt wanted Soviet help in the war against Japen. Vague promises were about as much as Stalin would give. -
Creation of the U.N.
The U.N. also known as the United Nations was an organization that, many hoped,would suceed where the league of Nations had failed. In April 1945, delegates from 50 nations met in San Francisco to write the charter for the U.N. The Senate overwhelmingly ratified the charter, and the UN later set up its permanent home in New York City. -
Potsdam Conference
The Postdam Conference is mostly about how four countries owning four parts of Geremany. The four countries were United States,Russia,China,Europe.The reason they spilt it up was they thought that Geremany wasn't able to take care of itself. -
End of World War 2
WW2 ended with the surrender of the Axis powers. Germany surrendered on May 7th to the Western Allies, and May 8th to the Soviet Union, 1945, a week after Adolf Hitler had committed suicide. -
The Truman Doctrine
The Truman Doctrine established that the United States would provide political, military and economic assistance to all democratic nations under threat from external or internal authoritarian forces. The Truman Doctrine reoriented U.S. foreign policy. -
The Marshall Plan
The United States poured financial aiding totaling $13 billion into the economies of Western Europe. The Marshall Plan was approved by Congress in the ECA of April 1948. The Marshall Plan spanned three ERP years from July 1948 to June 1951. -
Formation of NATO
After World War II, the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. payed attenion to Europe. Most the the continents governments had fallen to the Nazis during the war. -
McCarthyism
Mccarthyism is a time where this guy named Joe McCarthy said that about 200 people were communist. He took them all to trial and all of them were not communist. Because of this the whole thing ended up being named McCarthyism -

The Red Scare was a period in which many Americans feared that communism would thrive, and the capitalist system in the United States would be threatened. -
Rosenbergs
The Rosenbergs was a trail about this couple who were spies for communist. Julius is the guy and he got caught easily through family. Ethel the women almost got away but they caught her to,they say that she wrote notes from meetings on "jello boxes". The trial went on and they both did not get away with it. -

The reason that the Korean War started was because it was just another episode in the Cold War between the USA and the USSR. -

On May 27, North Korea announced that it no longer considers itself bound by the cease-fire agreement that ended hostilities in the Korean War. -

The Nuclear Arms Race was central to the Cold War. America and Russia built up their stockpiles of nuclear weapons. -

Im April of 1985, the general secretaries of the communist and workers parties of the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Romania gathered together to sign a protocol. -
The beginning of the Baby Boom
The Baby Boom was a period in time where a lot of people had money and well they made babies. The population grew and people got what they wanted. The Baby Boom ended up being a bad thing and they had to stop.
