    Baby Boom
After the war and the Great Depression in 1945 the U.S grew in population tremendously. It grew from 9 million to 29 million people in size. This happened because many people were coming back from war and they and their families haven't had time to have a family and decided since everything is pretty much passed and nothing negative is going on that it was time to have a family. It was also easier and more affordable to have a kid around that time.So anyone born from 1945-54 is a baby boomer.
