    Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. And Lincoln was the first Republician to win the election. Abraham Lincoln was against slavery and wanted it to end. And in 1861 Lincoln won the election as president. President Lincoln did not want to fight, but he did not want to be called a coward either.

    TX Secedes From Union
    Texas was the seventh state to secede from the Union when a state convention voted 166 to 8. A Republician party made many texans uneasy about continuing in a Union. When Lincoln was elected, all eyes pointed to Sam Houston (the governer) to call a convention or not. Sam predicted an "ignore defeat" from the south. Sam Houston refused to take an oath of allegiance, then resigned and replaced.

    Sam Houston first ran for government in 1857, but was defeated. When Lincoln was elected president, Sam was required to call a special session. Sam opposed the session and warned Texas that if this happend the north would win and south would lose. After Texas withdrawed from the union, Sam refused to take the oath of loyalty. And was removed March 16.

    General P.G.T. Beauregard, the commander of the confederate forces around Charleston Harbor opened fire on the union. At 2:30pm, major Robert Anderson (the commander of Garrison) surrendered the fort. And then was evacuated the next day.

The Confederates won the battle. And Galveston lost the battle to the confederats. And the Confederates killed the Union Officer William B. Renshaw.

    The Battle of Gettysburg was fought around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The battle was Union agenst the Confederates forces during the Civil War. The battle was involved the largest number of casualties of the entire war. The battle ended up with the Union winning victory of the battle.

    The Battle of Sabine Pass was a battle also named the Bombardment of sabine. Was a battle to strengthen the Union naval Blockade. When the union was coming,Crocker (i dont know who he is) ordered the naval ships to bombardment of the enemy positions. This ended up with the Union winning this battle.

    The Red River Campaign was not a battle but just a sort of things the people wanted to do. For example they wanted to destroy the Confederate army. Then they wanted to take over east Texas. And they wanted to take a hundred thousand bales of cotton. And finally they wanted to organize pro-Union state governments.

    The End Of The Civil War was the conclusion to the Civil War that held important battles, raids, and skirmishes. The Civil WAr ended with the surrender of the confederates. And the battle ended at the McLean house. Where lee surrendered to grant. And thus ending the battle of the Civil War.

    The Battle Of Palmito ranch was concidered as the final battle of the civil war. Being the last engagement of any significance of envolving cases. The battle was fought at the banks of the Rio Grande river, east of Brownsvilli, Texas. This ended with the confederate soligers winning the battle.

    Juneteenth is an Amercian holiday celebrating the freedom of slaves. The eventy is celebrated on june 19 every year. The event was mainly about Afercian-Amercians who were slaves now set free.
  • Reconstruction Ends

    The Reconstruction was an unwritten event about the 1876 presidental election.the unwritten part of the file was the federal troops in the south and pulled them. And when this happed it ended the Reconstruction Era.
