Harriet Tubman and The Underground Railroad
Harriet Tubman was one of the most know conductors on the Underground Railroad, she was a freed escaped slaved. She would travel to the south to free slaves and take them to the North so they could be free. The underground railroad was a combination of houses, carriges and other passageways for shelter for the slaves to hide while they escaped. -
Kansas Nebraska Act
This act got rid of the Missouri compromise, created 2 new territories and allowed for popular sovereignty. -
John Browns Raid on Harpers Fairy
Abolitionist John Brown tried to begin slavery rebellion for the South and to take over the US at Harpers Fairy, Virgina. -
Election of 1860
It was the election of Abraham Lincoln which also triggered the Civil War. He once said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand." so he decided to try and end slavery in American territory. -

First major battle, Union got their butts handed to them, Confederacy kicked their trash, people came to watch in their carriages which blocked the Unions retreat making it super messy. -

Jefferson Davis was elected the President of the Confederate States of America, he was the first and only President while the "country" was standing. -

Presidential Proclamation issued by Lincoln about an executive order of duties. -
Gettysburg Battle
It was the largest ad bloodiest battle in the Civil War. More than 51,000 soldiers were killed, wounded, captured, or had gone missing in the span of 3 days. Important victory for Union, stopped Lee's plans of invading the North. -
Sherman's March to the Sea
This march was meant to scare Georgia so they wouldn't be on the Confederates side. -
Ulysses S. Grant Appomattox
Where Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant ending the American Civil War. -
Abraham Lincolns Assassination
Southerners believed the Confederacy could be restored and didn't follow Lees surrender. -
13th Amendment
The 13th amendment was passed after the Civil War had ended, ending slavery. The 13th says that no slavery or involuntary servitude, except punishment for crimes, shall be allowed in the United States. -
14th Amendment
To have equal and legal rights for African Americans that were frees after the war. -
15th Amendment
Granted African American men the right to vote.
