    Brown VS. Board of Education

    Brown VS. Board of Education happened Dec. 9-11, 1952. The people involved were Oliver Brown and the Board of Education in Topeka, Kansas. Brown argued that Plessy VS. Ferguson was unconstitutional because African American students were being denied admittance certain public schools. The case was a victory and Plessy VS. Ferguson was found unconstitutional and violated equal protection of 14th amendment.

    Montgomery Bus Boycott

    The Montgomery Bus Boycott happened Dec. 5, 1955 to Dec. 20, 1956. Montgomery's African American Community or 40,000 African American bus riders were involved in boycotting the bus system. The Montgomery Bus Boycott took place in Montgomery, Alabama. The Montgomery Bus Boycott started because Rosa Parks an African American sat in the white section of a bus. The Montgomery Bus Boycott eventually worked and they found that segregated busses violated the 14th amendment and they integrated busses.
  • Little Rock 9

    Little Rock 9

    Little Rock 9 happened Sept. 4, 1957. It involved 9 African American students in Little Rock, Arkansas who were trying to attend a white school to advocate against segregated schooling.The National Guard and an angry mob prevented the students from entering. The students were eventually escorted by Federal troops and were able to enter and learn in a white school.
