Debating of wheather or not slavory should exist is one of the causes of the civil war. The North was against it, and the south was for it. this cause the seperation of our nation and a fight against brotherhood. -
Emancipation Proclamation
President Lincoln issued the proclamation as they entered the third year of the Civil War. this said that all slaves in the rebellious states were from then on free. Rosa Parks Boarded a Montgomery Bus after she got off work. She sat down in a seat that had been reserved as a "whites only area". The driver had asked her to give up her seat for a white man but refused. She had been arrested "going against thee law of segregation". -

Martin Luther King gave a speech that inspried a lot of people. It inspired peope that they can do and be want they want in life. He held boycotts and tons of protest to show that he wanted to be free. -
