    Motgomery Bus boycott
    On May 17, 1955 a woman named Rosa Parks boarded a bus after a hard day at work. She was sitting at the front of the black-only section of the bus. But when more white people boarded the bus she was told to move. She refused and the police was called and she was arrested. This sparked off a huge part of the Civil Rights Movment called the Bus Boycott.
  • Pearsall Plan

    Pearsall Plan
    In North Carolina something was introduced knowned as "The Pearsall Plan." This caused schools not to be racialy mixed. It was created by the Perasall comittee. It didn't last forever though.
  • Little Rock Nine

    Little Rock Nine
    In Little Rock, Arkansas, nine African-Amercian students were instructed to go to a white-only high school to try and change how the laws are. Eight of the students came and were turned away by guards. One student didn't have a phone and didn't know when to come so she showed up after the other students left. She was all alone and the guards turned her away just like the others. The bad part of it is that an angry mob of white people were there waiting for here and followed her, and taunting her
  • Greensboro sit-ins

    Greensboro sit-ins
    On feb. 1,1960 four colladge students decided to proteset against segregation laws. They went to a lunch counter that didn't serve blacks in Greensboro, NC. They sat there and refuse to leave untill served and they stayed all day. the next day more people joined them and then people all over southern states were doing the same thing. Soon lunch counters begain to welcome blacks to these places.
  • Freedom Riders

    Freedom Riders
    A group of C.O.R.E. members wanted to see if bus segregation laws were being enforced. They borded a bus in washington D.C. to go to Montgommery, Alabama. The drive went well untill the reached the bus station in Montgommery. An angry mob of white people were there to meet them. But they still kept doing these bus rides and they were told to stop but they didn't and bus segregation on interstate buses.
