    Rosa Parks/ Montgomery bus boycott
    Rosa parks sat down in the colored section. A white man asked for her seat and she refused to give it up and got arrested. Martin Luther King orginized the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955. in 1956 the supreme court voted to end segregated busing.
  • Birmingham Church Bombing

    Birmingham Church Bombing
    Before the incident KKK members had contoinuously threatened to bomb the church. Then, on a Sunday morning a bomb went off of the Curches east side caving in its interior walls. Most people were able to evacuate but 4 bodies were found under the rubble and one 10 year old girl lost her eye. And 20 more people were injured in the explosion. That was the third bombing in 11 days. lots of protests and violence broke out throughout the city.

    Civil RIghts Act of 1964
    This act prohibited discrimination in public places. In a public announcement John F. Kennedy urged the equal treatment of all americans regaurdless of race.
