But it wasn’t until Oliver Brown filed a law suit against the Topeka Kansas board of education so things would change in public schools. Brown vs. Board of Education ended segregation in Public schools.

Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man which lead her to get arrested. Her arrest outraged many African Americans that then lead to the year long Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee by James Earl Ray. His death was honered by many people and many of them held riots.
