Supreme Court rules that segragation in public schools is unconstintutional. Public schools were now to be equal.

A African American women is arrested for sitting in the whites only section on a bus. When she refused to give up her seat for a white male she was arrested. This showed that even though she paid for a spot on the bus that she had to give her seat up just because she was black.
