  • Homer Plessy sits in the white train car

    Homer Plessy was 7/8 white and instead of sitting in the black section where he was supposed to be, he sat in the white section because he was mostly white and he looked like a white person. Instead of letting it slid the police arrested him.
  • Plessy vs. Ferguson

    The U.S. Supreme Court decides the the segregation laws did coenside with the 14th Amendment in the U.S. Constitution. As long as the African American people were seperated from white people and were treated "Equaly" it was not against the Constitution. The only promblem was that the African Americans wern't really weren't treated equaly.
  • NAACP was founded

    National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was a very big corperation. And they did help many Arican Americans fight for their rights.
  • Jackie Robinson joins the broklyne dogers

    It was a very big deal for a black man to be playing on a white mans baseball team. It was rough on Jackie Robinson's family and very hard on him. He got more than 200 death threats much more. And he was an example of how segregation was coming to an end.
  • Brown v. Board of Education

    In this court case the court decided that haveing seprate schools for black and white chilren was unconstitutional. And thuse overurned the decision that the Supreem court previosly decided duing the Plessy vs. Ferguson case.
  • Rosa Parks was Arrested

    Rosa  Parks was Arrested
    Rosa Parks was sitting on the bus like she always did, but this time was different. Since she was an African American lady sitting near the front of the bus a white person could say "I want that seat" and she would have to move. And that is exactly what happened except she would not move. The police then came and arrested her after she refused multiple times.
  • Boycott

    4 days after Rosa Parks was arrested, a couple of women put together flyers for a boycott without even knowing if there was going to be a boycott. Soon after it was decided there was a boycott and not one african american should ride the busses. And not a one did.
  • Martin Luther King Jr's house was bombed

    Martin Luther King Jr's house was bombed
    On this day Martin Luther King Jr's house was bomded. His wife and baby girl were in the house at the time. Luckuly no one was hurt. At the time he was speaking at a mass meeting at the First Baptist Church. He told everyone what had happened and rushed home as quick as possible. As he neared his house he saw many angery African Americans with weapons around his house. They were there to make sure Martin and his family were all right. And they wanted answers to who did the bombing.
  • Boycott comes to an end

    After 379 days of walking to work and/or school the boycott ended. the reason the boycot eended was because they won the right to sit where ever they wanted on the bus. And it was based on a first come first serve bases.
  • I have a Dream

    Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous speech about he had a dream that someday every one would be treated fairly and equaly. Almost every child nowdays knows about that speech. He gave this speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. But the funny thing is the speech he gave that day was not the one he had planned to give.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. was Assassinated

    Martin Luther King Jr. was Assassinated
    Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated on the 4th of April in the year of 1968. He had a loveing wife, four children, good friends and many folowers. This came to a very big shock to everyone.
