    Before this day it was illegal for black students to go into a white school. This case made it illegal for disciminaion in schools. After this case went to court both whites and blacks could attend the same school.

    This is the first large group of students to go to an all white school. They needed a blockade to be able to go inside of the school.
  • Greensboro sit-in

    Four African American students sat in a counter after school. But the counter was an all white counter. When the whites asked them to move they refused and were beaten.

    Ruby Bridges
    This was the first African American to attend an all white school. As school began people hated her and threatened her. In order for her safety to be ensured she had to be escorted to her school.
