James chadwick was a physicist in Germany who discovered the nutron by useing a scattering data to calculate the mass of this neutral particle. Ernest Rutherford discovered the proton, but other physicts found out there was other things inside the Nucleus. James Chadwich studied atomic disintegration and found out the atomic number was less than the atomic mass. Then Rutherford thought there could be a partical with charge, but still can have mass. This is how James discovered the neutron.
