Around 400 BC, Democritus was the first person with the idea that matter was made up of atoms. He said matter is also has empty space and that's how the atoms move. Atoms are solid, homogeneous, indestructible, and invisable. There are also different atoms with different sizes and shapes.
-
In 350 BC, Aristotle rejected Democritus's idea that atoms move through empty space. He didn't believe that there was "nothingness" and he also didn't agree because he only believed in his own ideas. Aristotle also wrote many subjects over politics, ethics, nature, physics, and astornomy but most of his writtings were lost.

He named the elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. He also found out the role plays in combustion and respiration.
-
He discovered the law of constant combustion. He said that chemical compounds always combine in constant proportions.
-
John Dalton (1766-1844) had the idea that atoms of the same element are identicle. So that means they were the same size, mass, and chemical makeup. He also said that atoms are separated and combined during chemical reactions.
-
Discovered that if volumes of different gases have the same number of molecules but they have to be the same temperature and pressure. He also discovered that elements can be molecules and not just atoms.
-
William Crookes saw a flash of light in some tubes and the flash was from a form of radiation. It came from a coating that was applied to the end of the tube. The element ending up being Thallium.
-
In 1897, J.J Thomson discovered the electron through a study in which he tried to fine the electric discharge vaccuum cathode ray tube. He said that the deflection of the rays electrically charged plates and magnets.
-
Discovered that uranium salts realease a radiation that could be seen on a photographinc plate. What he discovered was radioactivity.
-
Discovered that matter can gain or lose energy in small amounts called quanta. Also that his theory said that matter can emit or absorb energy only in whole numbers.

Orville Wright piloted the first powered plane 20 feet in the air. It lasted 12 seconds and he went 120 feet. Wilbur then piloted another flight that lasted 59 seconds and went 852 feet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-CvkEUSAO4

Einstein is called the father of physics. He made the theory relativity. It said no matter how fast you go towards a light, it will always look like it is moving. It also doesn't matter if you are going toward or away from it, light will always reach you.

This earthquake ranks as one of the most significant of all time. The earthquake started at 5 in the morning and lasted for about 45 seconds to a minute. It was felt from southern Oregon to LA

Robert had many discoveries, but his most famous discovery was in 1910 when he found out that a charge qas carried by an electron. He used a falling drop method to prove this. He also said that this is constant with every electron.
-
Discovered that atoms of each element have a positive charge in the nuclei. Also he said that the number of protons an atom is called the atomic number.

World War I started July 28, 1914 and ended November 11, 1918. It was a global war the was centered in Europe. Over 9 million soldiers were killed in this war. The war was believe to be started up by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. This war was the start to many new weapons and vehicles. Many men got sick from living in trenches. http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-i/world-war-i-history/videos/legacy-of-world-war-i

Around 1919, Ernest Rutherford found two different types of radiation which he called Alpha and Beta. With World War I happening, he studied submarine and discovered how to have a nuclear reaction in a stable element.
-
Heisenberg developed the matrix mechanics formulation of quantom mechanics. He was also involved in nuclear physics, quantom field theory, and particle physics.
-
Louis thought that electrons can be particles and waves and this is what light can do. His discovery led us to lazers, computers, and microscopes.
-
Niels was the first to show that an atom is a small positive charged nucleus that is surrounded by electrons. He was also the first to discover that electrons are in orbit around a nucleus.
-
In 1932, James discovered the prof of neutrons. He said that the particles give off electrical charge which are the alpha rays and they are charged with other atoms.
-
Erwin came up with the equation for electron movements. This said that an electron moves as a wave in an atom.

http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/world-war-ii-history/videos/sherman-tank World War II was the most deadliest war in history. There was more than 50 million soldier and civilian deaths. The U.S got involved when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The leader of Nazi Germany was Adolf Hitler. He didn't like jews and had many concentration camps. The war started September 1, 1939 and ended September 2, 1945.

On December 7, 1941 the navy base in Hawaii was attacked by the Japanese by surprise. About 2400 people were killed. 20 U.S ships were destroyed as well as over 300 planes. This was why the U.S got involved in WWII.

http://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/vietnam-war-history/videos/a-soldiers-story-khe-sanh The war was fought in north and south Vietnam. 58,000 U.S troops were killed. It started November 1, 1955 and ended April 30, 1975. The Vietnam war was fought in forest, so it was very hard to see the Viet-Cong. This war was also during the "peace" era so people hated the soldiers. The soldiers were looked at as outcasts when they returned home.

Sputnik was launched by the Soviet Union October 4, 1957. It was the first earth satillite. It was about the size of a basketball and weighed 180 pounds. It could go about 18,000 mph and traveled 500 miles above the earth's surface. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvPzUAeWZZY

She discovered that uranium rays change the air that they pass through. These rays help us out everyday such as getting an X-ray.

The owner of Ford was Henry Ford. He made the Model T from 1908 to 1927. Ford wanted to make the vehicle low price, durable, and easy maintanence. Ford had the assembly line so this made the vehicle even more affordable. It went from $850 in 1908 to $300 in 1927.
