"Time for Helter Skelter"
Charles Manson announces to The Family that it is time for the Helter Skelter and tells 4 members inlcuding Susan Atkins, Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, and Linda Kasabian, to get a change of clothes and knives. He sends them out on their first mission to the Tate Residence saying to leave witchy message. -
Murder at Tate Residence
The four family members brutally murder 5 people at the Tate Residence: Sharon Tate, Voytek Frykowski, Steven Parent, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger. 4 victims were stabbed and the 5th was shot. When the family returned back to Manson with the details, he was displeased with how messy they were. -
LaBianca Murders
In the early morning of August 10, members of the Family stab Rosemary and Leno LaBianca to death. They leave a message "Death to Pigs" and "Healter [sic] Skelter" on the wall. -
1st piece of evidence found
The discovery of the gun used in the Tate murders is found in a bush by a 10 year old boy. The boy's family then turns it over to the LAPD who apparently failed to do a proper investigation over the newfound evidence. -
Mason is arrested at Barker Ranch in Death Valley
