    Sugar Act
    British parliment passed a tax on colonists in 176 called he stamp act. The Sugar act was a tax on molasis and sugar. The Sugar Act was enforced on the colonies and the west indies. It was made up so to just raise money for England and the colonies were not happy.

    Committe of Correspondents
    Since Britian's relationship was becoming weaker with the colonies it became important for the coloinies to exchange information. So, in 1764 the colonial assemblies and small branches of goverment made the Comitte of Corrispondents . It was made up to solve problems, within the colonies. eventually this Comitte ordered atacks on the british in the revolution.

    In 1765 the british parliment passed another tax on the colonies . This tax was put on all papers such as legal documents, news papers, and also playing cards. Many Taxes on the Colonists were just for Britain to gain weath.

    In early summer many people got agitated with the stamp act and wanted to do something about it. Then a group of shopkeepers and artisans who called themselves The Loyal Nine started to try do get rid of this act. When the The loyal Nine grew it became known as the sons of liberty. One thing that the sons of liberty did was try to make all the stamp distributers resign.

    Charles Townshed pushed parliment to enforce the act shortly after the sugar act was repealed. The ownshed act was a tax on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. Just like the sugar act people were not happy. Many people in Boston(the colonies biggest port) boycotted English goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    On march 5 ,770 a patriotic mob started to throw snowballs, sticks, and stones at the red coats. The mob started attacking one of them and shot and they started to shoot into the crowd killing three people. This new spread quickly through the colonies. Paul Revere described the event as "The Bloody Massacre". That is the reason we call it the Boston Massacre. This was one of the key events leading up to the Revolutionary War.

    On may 10th 1773 parliment passed the tea act. It was another tax on tea. In some cities they di not let the ships unload their tea. In boston the governer wanted the colonists to get the tea and held the ship at the port for a while. The colonists still did not want to have the taxed tea though.
  • Boston Tea Party

    On December 16 1773 The boston tea party dumped 342 chests of tea into the sea. These men dressed as indians and stormed the ship. The colonists were very mad at all the taxes that have been put down and are retalliating because of it. This anotherf event foreshadowing the revolution.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The intolerable acts had 4 acts, the Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, the Administration of Justice Act, and the Quebec Act.The Boston Port Act closed the harbor for a period of time. The Massachusetts Goverment Act was made to to better regulate the Massachusetts goverment. The Administration of Justice act is Impartial justice to those that have been in roits or tumults. The Quebec act is for making provisions for the province of Quebec.

    On september 5, 1774 all the colonies except Georgia sent delegates to the convention. They met to try to get england to repeal the intolerable. the congress also voted to stop all trade with England. This was Almost the start of the Revolutionary war.
