He contributed to the cell theory by saying the spontaneous generation theory is not true. Spontaneous Generation theory says that some living organisms comes from nonliving matter. Some examples would be like that fleas come from dust, maggots come from rotting meat and wheat left in a dark corner produces mice. -

The endosymbiotic theory says that eukaryote cells come from prokaryotes. It also says that large prokaryote cells eat small bacteria.
