  • Boston Massacre

    On March 5th of 1770, a group of angry colonists roamed the streets of Boston protesting the Townshed acts. Many of the Colonist weilded clubs. The colonist taunted and assaulted in the British troops. Many of the colonists taunted them to fire upon them and eventually one British Soldier fired. Then the rest of the troops fired as well.

    Members of the Sons of Liberty, disguised as Native Americans, borded a British Ship, bringing Tea into the Boston Harbor. They dumped 342 cartons of tea in the harbor.

    This act required the colonistls to house and feed the soldiers if they chose to stay in their homes. The Colonist often went along with this act, but a few kicked the British out of their homes.

    12 colonies out of the 13 colonies sent 56 delegates to the first contenental congress. Urged all colonies to avoid using British goods. Georgia was the only colony not involved

    The first shotswere fired at this battle. The British marched on Concord because it was a "weapons depot." The Americans were forced to withdraw. But with doing this, they slowed down the British.

  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    This Battle was a 2-day engagement between the British and American troops. The Americans objective was to protect a shipyard in Boston. General Presscott told his American troops "Dont fire until you see the whites of their eyes" to conserve ammunition. This battle was really fought on Breed's Hill, but is still called "The Battle of Bunker Hill"
