    Officially called "Act to protect the Province Against Communistic Propaganda." Passed by the Union Nationale government of Maurice Duplessis and was intended to prevent the dissemination of coummunist propaganda.

    Was an attempt by the Soviet Union to limit the ability of France, Great Britain and the United States to travel to their sectors of Berlin. Three years after the end of World War II, the blockade was the first major clash of the Cold War lead to further conflicts.

    NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
    The NATO is a intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty. The organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party. NATO's headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium, one of the 28 member states across North America and Europe, the newest of which, Albania and Croatia, joined in April 2009.

It was set up to detect incoming Soviet bombers during the Cold War, and provide early warning of any sea-and-land invasion.

American draft dodgers and military deserters who came to seek refuge in Canada during the Vietnam War sparked controversy among those seeking to immigrate to Canada. Some of it was started by the Canadian government’s initial refusal to admit those who could not prove that they had been discharged from military service.

    Lester B. Pearsons role in defusing the Suez Crisis through the United Nations, Pearson was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The selection committee said that he had "saved the world." The United Nations Emergency Force was Pearson's creation, and he is considered the father of the modern concept of peacekeeping.

    The Progressive Conservative government uneder the rain of John Diefenbaker deployed 56 American-made Bomarc missiles in Ontario and Quebec. During tht time the government did not tell the population that they were nuclear missiles that were launched. After the conservative party was ruled out, the liberals were elected and accepted to inform that the missles that were let out in Canadian soil were, in fact, nuclear.

    The Avro Arrow a delta-winged interceptor aircraft. During it's production, abruptly was stopped and put Avro out of business. To this day it raises a lot of debate and it is still not entierly certain why the avro arrow was stopped during production.

It was the first competition between the Soviet national team and a Canadian team. The Canadian team was made up from professional players of the National Hockey League (NHL), which formed Team Canada.
