Having been read too
As early as I remember teachers would read to me. My kindergarten teacher and first grade teachers would read stories in class and us children would listen. We enjoyed the stories very much. -
Reading independently
The older I got the more we would spend time at school reading independently. We would have quiet reading time and the teacher would ask us to read chapter 2. We would read at our own pace then come back as a class and discuss what happened in that chapter. -
Reading to the class
In Middle school I recall a teacher I had who would always call on students to read aloud. I enjoyed reading aloud because I was always a strong reader. I would always hope he would pick on me. -
Connecting to real life
In elementary school many times my teachers would tell me to think about my own life and connect it to my own life. This was easy for me because I loved to think about my own life in context to things. -

Reading adventures
Throughout my reading adventures there have been easy and difficult times. Easier as I was younger and gradually reading became harder as ai got older. I started out reading mostly for enjoyment and now I read mainly to learn. -
Predictions made
I remember reading books and having to make predictions on what would happen next. We did this a lot throughout middle and high school. -
Main Idea
In high school I had to read chapter books for homework then write a report on the book. What was the main idea about? What was the author trying to convey? The reports were 4 to 5 pages long. -
Summary of reading
In High School reading became more advanced. My teachers would have me write summaries of the books which I would read. I didn't mind it very much. I was also a strong writer and liked to get my opinions down on paper. -
Note taking
In college the books I would read were more difficult. I had to take notes in order to remember what I was reading. They were not easy story books anymore. -
Reading for the adventure
I enjoyed reading books during my spare time. I would find a quiet place and just read. -
Reading books for college
I now mostly like to read to learn(Non-Fiction) books. I want to always take away something from a book. Not necessarily reading for pleasure anymore.
