He was born to jewish immigrant parents, in Philadelphia, PA. In his youth he developed an interest in anarchism. This allowed him to explore other interest, which shaped his mental prowness and the need to have a better understnding of the behaviors of others. -
Carol Schatz & Chomsky
Chomsky has know carol since his childhood and he married her in 1947. She would later pass in 2008 and she gave him 3 children which they shared together. He would later marry Valeria Wasserman much later in 2014. -
Cognitive Revolution
Chomsky and his framework for the study of language led to a cognitive revolution in the community for human sciences. He has a theory on linguistic mainly in biolinguistics. The view is that all humans are genetically able to have the same underlying linguistic structure. he also had a view of the ability for all humans to be able to learn a universal language. -
Anti American Imperialism
Chomsky was a very outspoken opponent to the U.S. involvement in Vietnam. He rose to national attentionwhen he became associated with the acticvisim group the New left. He is also recognized for his name making it on a list for president Richard Nixon.
