    On this day two hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center, with another plane hitting the pentagon, and one crashing into a field in Pennsylvania. This marks one of the most tragic events on American soil most recently, killing 2,996 individuals. This in turn made our country more cautious with security on planes, helping to make The United States a safer place to live.

    As a result of the September 11th attacks, the United States declared war with Iraq on March 19. The Iraqi War then continued on until the cease-fire in December of 2011. This event is important, due to the fact that it has increased the debt in America,and has created even more tension in the middle east.

    My grandfather on my father's side, was on bed rest due to his inability to use his legs. My family took him in when others refused to. Because at the time, my grandfather was at a nursing home where he was completely miserable at. He was constantly on medication where he was drooling half the time, which is completely horrible.

And these are only three accomplishments made by Obama.

    Just south of Louisiana, the largest oil spill in U.S. history occurred on this day. According to one source it was estimated that around 200,000 gallons of oil was lost per day. The spill occurred due to an explosion on the rig itself, killing animals and affecting ecosystems in the surrounding area. After this spill, precautions have been made to ensure that a big catastrophe like this would not happen again.

    This trip to Canada really helped me realize how much of the world, that I have yet to explore. Although, Canada is extremely similar to the US, it allowed me to experience new foods and a taste of french culture (Quebec). While I was there, I was able to check out the Niagara Falls, which has amazing views up close. Check that off my bucket-list.
