    The French and Indian war was a war against the British and the French. The french aligned with the native Americans and they were against the British. The French and Indian War was ended by the Treaty of Paris.

    The Stamp act was a direct tax on almost ll printed materials. The tax was enforced on all American and British colonists.

    Boston Massacre
    It was a small riot that was started by some mod harassing British soldiers. Only five people were killed and the soldiers that committed the murders had a trial.

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party occurred because the colonists were given a tax on the tea and they had taxation without representation. Because of that the colonists disguised themselves as Native Americans and dumped all of the tea off of a ship.

    This was called by the Committees of Correspondence. It was in response to the intolerable Acts. The meeting was in Philadelphia. There were fifty six delegates that represented the colonies. The only colony that was not represented was Georgia.

    Paul Revere rode a horse from Charlestown to Lexington in order to warm the people that the British were coming. The British were marching into Boston so that they could take control of it.

    When the British went to take control of Boston, colonies fought back and they ended up trapped on a hill. The Americans fought until they ran out of ammunition and were forced to retreat.

    This was a pamphlet that had a lot of information and swaying topics of independence. Because of this pamphlet, it lead to the Declaration of Independence.

    This was a document that was created after all of the colonies decided that they should form their own governments. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and was revised by other people.
  • Battle of Trenton

    George Washington crosses the Delaware river after being forced across New Jersey. He crosses the river so that him and his troops are able to surprise the Hessians at night and win the battle.

    George Washington and his troops had to bunker down and survive the winter. Many died, but many held through and kept the force alive.
  • France and the United States form an alliance

    The France and United States form an alliance because they have always helped the U.S. with aid in the past. After the alliance the U.s was able to receive many resources.
  • Siege of Yorktown

    Siege of Yorktown
    Washington used the U.S. army and the partial French army to place York town under siege. The British ended up surrendering.
  • Articles of Confederation ratified

    This was a plan for the government, to act as a way to organize it. It was a way to connect the initial government and the Continental Congress.
  • Treaty of Paris ends the war

    After the Siege of Yorktown there were still battles at sea but in the end the British could not hold up. The British recognized the independence and signed the treaty.
