nine colonies sent people to a meeting in New York City to talk about the Stamp Act andat the meeting They sent a letter asking Britain to repeal the Stamp Act. Sadly The British would not listen. Instead they placed new taxes on the colonies.

The people were angered by the new act, even though the already were refusing taxes and not buying british goods they decided to do more, so group of Massachusetts colonists disguised as Mohawk Indians board three British tea ships and dump 342 chests of tea into the harbor.
