French and Indian War ends
The Treaty of Paris forced France to give up all of its territories in North America. This can also be referred to as The Seven Years War. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was a tax known to be on every sheet of every legal document created. Britain taxed many colonists since they were in need of money because of the war. This caused the colonists to boycott British goods. -
The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a group of 9 British soldiers who of which would shoot citizens throughout a crowd. These citizens were harassing them and throwing multiple objects at them. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act drastically lowered the price of tea in East India Company within the colonies. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was a protest surrounding politics. American colonists dumped tea into the harbor because they were unpleased with Britain’s “taxation without representation”. -
The First Continental Congress
The king was extremely upset about the Boston Tea Party happenings and for that he wanted to punish the American colonists. This would be how the First Continental Congress was met. -
The Coercive/Intolerable Acts
The British wanted to punish Boston, so they passed the Coercive Act (which people of Boston called them the Intolerable Act). The Intolerable act closed posts of Boston. -
The Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress formed because Britain refused to repeal the Intolerable Acts. The effects from the Congress was to declare independence from Great Britain. -
Lexington and Concord
This was the first battle of the revolutionary war which was fought in Massachusetts. -
The Declaration of Independence Adopted
The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4 in Philadelphia, PA. This would result in us celebrating the Fourth of July. -
The Winter at Valley Forge
There were many causes for the harsh conditions at Valley Forge. Some of them included; lack of food, organization, and limited money. This would be the third year of the war. -
The Battle of Saratoga
This battle was the absolute turning point in the war. The reason for this was because the American army defeated the British army. This created a hope for the Americans that their independence would be claimed. -
The Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was the final land battle of the war. This was held in the American region. -
The U.S. Constitution Written
This document is to show how the government is there to serve the citizens of the country through the infamous quote “We the People”. The U.S. Constitution is the longest standing written paper of the government. -
The U.S. Constitution Adopted
The Constitution, which was written in 1787, was ratified in 1788. This document has been in order since 1789.
