  • Chisholm v. Georgia

    Chisholm v. Georgia was a major contribution in the adoption of the 11th amendment because Georgia refused to appear because they didn't give consent to the law suit.

    The 11th prevents cases of people suing a different than the one they live in will not be federal jurisdiction.
  • 12th Amendment

    12th Amendment

    The 12th amendment establishes voting using a ballot and the president and vice-president are apart of the same party. And if anything happens to the president that makes them unable to stay president the vice-president acts as the president.

    Lincoln had introduced the 13th amendment to get rid of slavery completely after the civil war because the south had no way to stop it from going through as they just lost the war and have to rebuild their states.

    The 13th amendment bans the use of slaves in the U.S. other than if the person has committed a crime and that is the punishment.

    After the slaves became free in South the Southern people started restricting the rights of the black people.

    The 15th amendment says that people of any race can't be prevented to vote.

    The 16th amendment states that congress has the power to put axes on the people's income.

    The 17th amendment says that each state is composed of two senators per state.

    18th Amendment

    The 18th amendment prevents the sale and distribution of alcohol.

  • 19th Amendment

    The 19th amendment states that all sexes can vote with no obstructions.

  • 20th Amendment

    The 20th amendment sets a date and time for which an official's time has ended.
  • 21st Amendment

    The 21st amendment cancels out the 18th amendment.

  • 22nd Amendment

    The 22nd amendment prevents a president from holding office for more than two terms.

  • 23rd Amendment

    The 23rd amendment gives the citizens of DC the right to vote for representatives in the electoral college.

    24th Amendment

    The 24th amendment prevents a poll tax to be used to prevent anyone from voting.

  • 25th Amendment

    The 25th amendment states that the vice president will act as president if the current president is removed or died.
  • 26th Amendment

    The 26th amendment gives people that are 18 and older the right to vote.
  • 27th Amendment

    The 27th amendment prevents a congressional raise until after the next election.
