    Bill of Rights
    The bill of rights, the original 10 amendments is ratified. This gave the rights for press, guns and freedom of speech. Without the bil of rights, this would be a nazi-like regime of power hungry polititians.

    Amendment 13
    This Amendment to the constitution abolished slavey, and was a great win. It was also a defining moment for all African American people in the U.S.

    This amendment gave black people the right to vote, which furthered their rights, and diminished racism even more so. They had been fighting for this right for many years, and had finally broke the barrier. This action lead to ethnic equality eventually.

    The lusitania was sunk by a german torpedo, killing 1,198 on board. In 2008 when divers found the ship, they found that it had carried more than four million rounds of rigle ammunition, labeled as cheese, butter, and oysters.

    The Americans Creed
    Written in1917, by William Tyler Page, The house accepted it in 1918. The american creed is a pledge that says I am an american, and i am proud of it. It also defines what an american should act like.
  • Amendment 18

    Amendment  18
    This amendent gave way to the prohibition of liqour. This was the most controversial amendment, and was later repealed due to its lack of effect. No one would live without alcohol, and once the government could tax it, they would also make money on it, like the gangs did during the prohibition.

    This amendment gave women the right to vote. This was a mojor step towards a society that was not sexist, but had sexual equality. And while we're still not there today, we are alot closer than we were nearly 90 years ago.
  • The pledge of allegiance

    In this year the words "The flag of The United States of America" were added to the pledge, which until now had read, "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
  • Amendment 20

    This amendment set the parameters for when the
    presidents and vice-presidents terms end and begin.
  • Amendment 18 is repealed

    The prohibition was ended because all of the gangs were seling alcohol and it wan't doing its job. This was the 21st amendment.
  • Amendment 22

    This amendment limted the terms of office that the president could serve to two-four year terms. This made it so that a President could not serve forever, and would deplete the odds of him becoming a dictator.
  • The Pledge, revised.

    President Eisenhower added "under God" to the pledge of aligiance, making it the one that we say today.
  • Amendment 24

    This amendment abolished the poll tax. This made it to were you could vote and not have to pay for it, which was a scheme at the time to try to deter the poor from voting.
