    The U.S. court cant make decisions on a court hearing for a state if the state was sued by someone from another state or country.

    The 11th amendment was created due to this court hearing. It was made so that federal lawsuits couldn't be put onto a state without them having any say.

    12th amendment
    The 12th amendments makes it so that states have to vote for a vice president and president instead of having 2 votes go to the president that they want.

    The election of 1800 created the 12th amendment because the votes were tied between candidates and it was pointed out that there was a flaw in the electoral system.

    The 13th amendment was made to abolish slavery. It made it so slavery was only allowed as a punishment for a crime.

    The civil war going from 1861-1865 was what created slavery since that is what the whole war was about. It was created more as a punishment against the south since they were the ones who relied so heavily on slavery for its economy.

    All citizens have the right to vote in the united states no matter their background or race.

    16th amendment
    Congress has the right to collect taxes from peoples incomes without "any regard to census".

    Supreme Court case of Pollock v. Farmers' Loan & Trust Co.

    This court case was made because one side wanted to tax their workers and the other side didnt think it was a good idea to tax the income of their workers and the taxers won.

    The 17th amendment gave people the right to vote on their state senators and also made it so every state has 2 senators.

    The 17th amendment was created because they wanted a more direct democracy and there were too many hung states legislatures.

    The 18th amendment made transporting, making, and drink alcohol illegal and started the prohibition age.

    The 18th amendment was created because of groups like the Anti-saloon league and the temperance movement. They wanted it shut down because they believed that alcohol made men angry and more violent.

    The 19th amendment says that the right to vote shouldn't be decided on the base of your sex. To shorten it, its saying that women have the right to vote in america.

    Women's suffrage movement

    The womens suffrage movement, which started in 1848 was the reason that the 19th amendment was created. It took many years and may protests to achieve it but they finally did.
  • 20th amendment

    20th amendment
    The 20th amendment made it so that president and vice president have term limits and cant server for as long as they want or are voted for. It also says who should take over for the president if something were to happen to him.

    21st amendment
    The 21st amendment appeals the 18th amendment and makes it so that alcohol is legal again and ends the prohibition era.

    FDR signed the Cullen Harrison act which made it legal to manufacture alcohol with low alcohol content.

    22nd amendment
    The 22nd amendment makes it so presidents can only serve 2 4 year terms in their entire life. After you serve for a total of 8 years you cant run for election again.

    FDR was in office for 3 terms during ww2 and was going to get another term but he passed away in 1945. This lead to the 22nd amendment being made because people thought he was in office for too long.

    The 23rd amendment allows citizens in the District of Columbia to vote in presidential elections.
  • 24th amendment

    24th amendment
    The 24th amendment outlawed having poll taxes to vote which was directed at african american voters because they had less money.

    The age to vote is 18 years old and shouldnt be denied.

    In case the president dies or is removed, the vice president takes over for him as the president.
  • 27th amendment

    27th amendment
    The 27th amendment makes it illegal to raise or decrease the salary of any congress member.
