Many of Greek's city-states rise up in rebellion, Alexander quickly besieges the city. The inhabitants are either executed or sold into slavery, showing other city-states that Alexander is just as powerful as his father.

In the fall of 328 B.C., Alexander gets drunk and falls into an argument with his close companion Cleitus, and accidentally stabs him with a spear. Alexander is filled with remorse over the loss of the man who saved his life at the battle of Granicus. This incident marks a turning point for Alexander, whose officers began to fear him.

After conquering Iran and capturing Price Oxyartes, Alexander marries Roxanne, the Prince's daughter. This is meant to be a political alliance and it serves as an insult to Barsine, Alexander's Persian mistress.

Hoping to add more territory to his empire, Alexander and his troops cross the Hindu Kush into northern India and end up spending several months there. However, Alexander's men refuse to go any further and he is forced to return to Babylon.

Legend has it that Alexander left his empire to "the strongest" of his commanders but after his death, his empire falls into disorder.
