    Doolittle’s Raid- This arial attack on Japan led by Lieutenant Colonel James H. Doolittle was the beginning of the vengeance of the United States in April of 1942. The battle was on April 18th 1942. The United States Won-First Air raid-Air Crafts used included the B-25-Chinese civilians would help American soldiers out of Japan.

The United States won the battle.-One of the battles fought in the ocean-Fought mostly on aircraft carriers-It was a new type of Naval Warfare

Nimitz ordered an ambush on Japanese-Midway became a vital component in the American trans-Pacific offensive

    Guadalcanal- Took place in the island of Guadalcanal on August 71942- February 9th 1943. It resulted in an allied victory.-Captured an airfield and then named Henderson Field-Australia and Britain were involved-Other new land resources were gained from this victory

The battle resulted in an American victory.-Japanese forces expected an attack further south-25,000 Japanese civilians died-Since the island was close to the Japanese home island, it helped America move forward in the war.

It was resulted in an American Victory.-One of the most remembered battles in American history-Raising the flag on Iwo Jima was one of the most historical photographs -The only battle that the American casualties exceeded the Japanese.

    Okinawa- A.k.a Operation Iceberg, was fought on the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa. The battle took place on April 1st- June 21 1945 and resulted in an allied victory. -Two atomic bombs were dropped one in Okinawa and the other in Hiroshima.-After the bombing, the landscape destroyed buildings and a vast empty field.-Churchill considered this to be the most intense and famous in all of history.
