    Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879. He was born in Ulm, Germany. Einstein had a sister named Maria and they were the children of Hermann and Pauline Einstein.This is significant becuase he will evantually become one of the best scientists to ever live and changed the way people think forever.   • Statue of Liberty

    Statue of Liberty
    The Statue of Liberty arrived in New York Harbor on June 19th, 1885 as a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States. In order to transport the statue to America, the figure was disassembled into 350 pieces and packed in 214 crates. On october 28th, 1886, President Grover Cleveland officially dedicated the statue to America. This is now a symbol for freedom and significant part in Americas History (History.com)

    Albert Einstein and Mileva Maric were married at Bern City Hall on January 6, 1903. She was just 28 and Einstein was almost 24. They had two sons, Hans (1905) and Eduard (1910). They would end up divorcing in 1916. This is significant because it is his first marriage. (Kondo 17)

    In 1905, Einstein develpoed The Theory of Relativity. This suggests that the universe we live in includes 4 dimensions, the first three being what we know as space, and the fourth being spacetime, which is a dimension where time and space are inextricably linked. According to Einstein, two people observing the same event in the same way could perceive the singular event occurring at two different times.     Einstein Becomes Associate Professor at Zurich
    In 1909, after serving as a lecturer at the University of Bern, Einstein was called to be associate professor at the Universiry of Zurich which was his first full-time physics job. The University of Zurich is also where he went to college when he was 17. He was there for only two years until 1911 when he moved on to the German University of Prague.     In 1920, Women were given the right to vote. Before this time, women did not get as much respect as guys. Once this happened, they got the respect that they deserved. This is significant becuase women could not vote before this law was passed and the law still stands today. (History.com)

    The Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 was awarded to Albert Einstein. This award was given to him "for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect." He was 42 years old when he recieved the prize. (Kondo 33)

    In 1939, Einstein played a key role in mobilizing the resources necessary to constuct the atomic bomb by signing a famous letter to the president Franklin D. Roosevelt on Augest 2nd. It had been drafted by Leo Szilard and E.P. Wigner. Einstein's famous equation E=mc2 was demonstrated in a terrifying way by using an atomic bomb to destroy Hiroshmain 1945. This is significant becuase alot of people died from this and it was a crucial part in World War II

The Holocaust was the most effective event during this war led by Adolf Hitler. There were 12 Million deaths in The Holocuast alone and over 61 Million deaths total throughout the entire war.     The Battle of Britain was the intense air battle between the Germans and the British over Great Britain's airspace from July 1940 to May 1941, with the heaviest fighting from July to October 1940. This is significant becuase th Germans were bombing the British and the British ended up winning. (History.com) After the fall of France at the end of June 1940, Nazi Germany had one major enemy left in Western Europe -- Great Britain.

    Albert Einstein died on April 14, 1955 at the age of 76. He died of heart failure in Princeton, New Jersey. His funeral was private, only allowing family and close friends and his body was cremated. This is significant becuase he was very famous and a great scientist. (McQueen)
