FFA becomes a national organization in 1928
A network of teachers guided the establishment of FFA as a team effort to establish a club for boys with similar farm interest -
NFA was formed
NFA was formed (New Famers of America) for black students in the south -
Federal Chater from Congress
FFA becomes one of a the few student organizations to recieve a Federal Chater from Congress (Public Law 740) -
They Merged
In 1965 FFA and NFA merged together. -
Girls allowed
Girls were allowed in FFA for the first time in 1969 -
Name Change
in 1988 the name was changed from Future Famers of America to National FFA organization to reflect the growing diversity int he agriculutre industry -
National Convention
The National Convention completes 7 year run in Indianapolis and returns to Lousiville Kentucky in 2013 for 3 years
