    Harriet Tubman was born on March 10, 1820. She was an union spy druing the Civil War, she was born in to slavery, but once she was grown she escaped. Tubman made 19 missions to save over 300 slaves, by using safe houses, and traveling at night.

    Jackie Robison was born on Jan. 31, 1919. When he first started playing in MLB games in 1947, he was always pushed around because he was African American, which made his career harder for him.

    Emmett Till was an Afircan American boy, who was killed in Mississippi, at the age of 14. He was killed by Carolyn Bryant's husband, because Emmett was flirting with his wife at her coner store that she owned.

    Rosa Parks was a 42 year old African American that worked as a seamstress. Rosa was sitting in the middle of the bus, designated for Blacks only. On this particular day, all the seats were taken in the white section, the bus drivier told her to give her seat up for a white male. She refused to do so causing her arrest. This opened the doors for civil right actions and the freedom movement. Thus giving her the names, "The first lady of civil rights", and "The mother of freedom movement."

     "I Have a Dream" speech was given
    This speach was started by Mahalia Jackson, by her shouting out to Martin, "Tell them about the dream Martin!"
    Still to this day, Martins speech,"I have a dream that one day..." is widely known by all.
  • Murder at Lorraine Motel

    Murder at Lorraine Motel
    April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr, was assassinated at Lorraine Motel. It's reported while staying at the motel, King was on the balcony outside his room, when he as shot by James Earl Ray. This single shot caused Kings death.
