    Rosa Parks refused to give her bus seat up to a white man. This happened in Montgomery, Alabama. This launched a bus boycott by 17,000 black citizens.

    This was a speech about African Americans wanting equality and freedom, this was one of the defining moments in the civil rights movement, and one of the most famous speeches ever given.

    The March on Washington.

    The March on Washington was the most defining moment in the Civil Rights movement, as over 200,000 marched into the capital of the US and pleaded for equal rights. This is also when Martin Luther gave his famous speech "I have a dream". This march of successful as it pressured the congress to pass civil rights bills.

    This speech was given in a church in Ohio. Malcom X said if the government continues to prevent African Americans equality, it might be necessary for them to take up arms.

    Martin Luther got assassinated at a hotel in Memphis, this killing spawned a sad time in America. Martin was the leading face of the civil rights movement, and the people who did not like that movement evilly killed him. Even though he died his legacy is never forgotten.
