13th Amendment
This amendment officially abolished slavery and involuntary servitude, except as punishment for a crime. This would end slavery and would hope to help the whites and blacks get along. It was approved by Lincoln. -
Ku Klux Klan was formed
The KKK effected the United States because they wanted to kill the blacks and the white republicans in the south. Klan groups spread throughout the South. -
Alfred Nobel invents dynamite
This is improtant becuase this would allow people and countries to make larger bombs. Also this would help in mining and would be able to move large amounts of dirt. -
14th Amendment
This would help the African Americans alot becuase it gives them every right that the white people have and would help with the fighting between the gov't and blacks. -
Transcontinental Railroad
This would link the west and the east together. This would be very important because the two can now trade good and raw materials. Also could transport people and animals. -
15th Amendment
This is improtant because it gave everyone the right to vote on a decision in the United States. No matter what your color or race. This would help with disputes within America. -
John D. Rockefeller
Rockafeller founded the Standard Oil Company. They were the first to produce, refine transport and market oil in that time period.The largest at the time, which made other countries want to trade with us. -
Enforcement Acts
This act was important to the United States becuase it was meant to protect rights of all blacks following ratification of the 14th Amendment. This would give the blacks a more sence of that the United States cares for and protects them. -
Alexander Graham Bell
He was the first person to invent and patent the telephone. This would allow the entire world to communicate with each other alot faster then before. By 1900 more then a million telephones were installed in houses across the nation. -
Chinese Exclusion Act
This effected America and the Chinese. This was a international problem. This would exclude the Chinese immagrants from coming to america. This would make the Chinese angry at America. -
Statue of Liberty
A gift to the United States from the people of France of a female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom,The statue has become an iconic symbol of freedom and of the United States. This show the rest of the world that we are free and a peaceful nation. -
Sherman Antitrust Act
This was an attempt to limit the amount of control a business could have over an industy. it outlawed any combination of companies that restrained interstate trade. This would help the economy and the power that people have. -
Populist Party
Known as the Populist Party or the People's Party they demanded radical changes in federal economy and social policies. Based among poor white cotton farmers in the South and wheat farmers in the Plains states. -

The Panama Canal joins the Atlantic and Pacific ocean. It provides a much needed shortcut for ships looking to trade with the rest of the world. Which makes trade faster and more efficient. -
WWI
This is the start of WWI and is a major event in America's history. We made alliances and became enemies. -
19th Amendment
This prohibits every stateand government from denying any citizen the right to vote based on that citizen's sex. Also know for giving woman the right to vote. This helped the United States have more voters and more complete.
