  • Non-Aggression Pact

    The Non-Aggression Pact was a pact that the Soviet Union and Germany signed shortly before the second World War, saying that their military would not take any action towards each other for 10 years.
  • Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain was a military campaign which the Royal Air Force defended the UK against the vicious Nazi Germany Air Force, who were know as "Luftwaffle."
  • Atlantic Conference

    The Atlantic Conference/ Charter was a meeting held on August 14th in 1941 between allied leaders where they outlined the goals for the post-war world.
  • Battle of Midway

    The Battle of Midway was a naval battle between the US and Japan that stopped Japan's advancement and put them on the defensive end of things.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad was fought between Germany along with their allies and the Soviet Union. They fought for the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia.
  • Operation Torch

    The invasion on North Africa to free the Mediterranean Sea from Germany's control and protect the oil fields in the Middle East.
  • Italian Campaign

    Attack on Italy and Germany in Italy, where the American and British troops forced Italy to surrender. However, Germany did not surrender and continued to fight.
  • Tehran Conference

    First Conference between FDR, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin, where they discussed the final plan to take down the Axis powers.
  • Operation Overlord

    Also known as "D-Day", on June 6th 1944, it was an invasion of Normandy that led to the allied powers control of the western front.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    The Battle of the Bulge was the last German offensive, and was the beginning of the end for the Nazi regime.
  • Yalta Conference

    The second meeting between FDR, Stalin, and Churchill, where they planned to demand Germany to surrender and the post-war European plan.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle between Japan's navy and the US Marines in which the US captured island of Iwo Jima from Japan. This battle demonstrated how the Japanese were not going to give, showing how much an invasion would cost.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Last major battle of World War ll, more than 180,000 US army and Marine Corps troops made a final push towards Japan.
  • Surrender of Berlin/Germany

    With the Soviet Union approaching Berlin from the west, and the US and allies approaching from the east, the end of World War ll was near. Knowing that defeat was approaching Adolf Hitler committed suicide and left the Nazi regime to surrender without their leader, ultimately ending World War ll.
  • Potsdam Conference

    Last meeting between president Truman, Stalin, and Churchill where they discussed Germany's punishment and Europe's future, in that meeting, they also discussed the "unconditional surrender" of Japan.
  • Hiroshima

    First atomic bomb ever used in warfare, was dropped in Hiroshima by the US. President Truman ordered the bombing, because any other attack attempt on Japan would've cause way to many American lives. The bomb instantly took between 60,000-80,000 lives. This and the Nagasaki bombing ultimately led to Japan's surrender from World War ll.
  • Nagasaki

    Second and last time a nuclear weapon was used during warfare. The US just 3 days after bombing Hiroshima bombed Nagasaki wiping out thousands and thousands of people, Japan later surrendered on the 15th of July 10945, ending World War ll.
