    Since the Israelites set out from Rameses on the 15th day of the 1st month in the 1st yr (Num 33:3), the time in the wilderness was 5 days short of 40 yrs
    They entered Canaan 400 yrs after the death of Joseph, 40 yrs after they carried Joseph's bones out of Egypt during the exodus

    The Plains of Moab was the last camp prior to the entry into the land of Canaan (Num 33:48-49)

    As a result, 24,000 died by the plague (Num 25:1-9)
    This even occurred after the death of the soldiers numbered in the 1st census, before crossing the brook Zered (Deut 2:13-16)
    Thus, the people who died @ this place were the second generation of the wilderness

    The 2nd census of soldiers was taken "after the plague" @ Moab Shittim, where 24,000 died due to idolatry & adultery (Num 26)
    The purpose of the 2nd census of soldiers was to number those who would experience the fulfillment of the covenant of the torch, to number those who would enter the Promised Land & fight, & to divide the Promised Land fairly among all the tribes

    Miriam died in Kadesh approx. 1 yr prior to the Israelites' entry into Canaan (Num 20:1)
    Aaron died @ the age of 123, approx 8 months prior to the Israelites' entry into Canaan (Num 20:12)
    He died as God had proclaimed, about 4 months after he was sentenced to death in Numbers 20:12, 24 (Num 20:28; 33:38)
    Moses, who was forbidden from entering Canaan (Num 20:8-13), pleaded earnestly for God to allow him to enter Canaan, but God did not permit it (Deut 3:23-28)

    During the 38-yr journey from Kadesh-barnea to the crossing of the brook Zered (Deut 2:13-16), the 603,458 from the 1st census of soldiers died (Num 1:46; 32:11-13)
    The prophecy in Numbers 14:26-35 was fulfilled, & thus Joshua & Caleb were the ONLY persons from the 1st generation of the wilderness that survived to be counted again in the 2nd census (Num 26:63-65)

    God trained Moses in Midian for 40 yrs & eventually called to him from a burning bush @ Mount Horeb for the great work of the exodus. (Exo 3:1-10; Acts 7:30-34)
    The Israelites departed from Rameses in the great exodus on the fifteenth day of the first month in the first yr, 430 yrs after their migration to Egypt & 360 yrs after the death of Joseph. (Exo 12:37-41; Num 33:3)
    They marched out courageously in martial array (Exo 13:18; Num 33:1) as the army of the Lord (Exo 12:41; 7:4)

    Calling of Moses & Israel's exodus (636th Year of the Covenant)

    God allowed them to bring out great wealth in the exodus. (Exo 3:21-22; 11:2-3; 12:35-36; Psa 105:37-38)
    This is the fulfullment of God's promise in the covenant of the torch. (Gen 15:14)
    Moses recalled Joseph's final request & took Joseph's bones in the exodus. (Exo 13:19)
    Joseph's bones most likely were preserved in a coffin covered w/ one layer of sycamore wood (from a large sycamore tree/sycamore fig)/ a double-layered coffin covered w/ an exterior sarcophagus.

    B/c of the grumbling & rebellion caused by the ten spies' unfaithfulness in Kadesh-barnea during the early days of the wilderness (Num 13:25-14:4), God declared that the Israelites would have to spend 40 yrs, (1 yr for each day of spying on the land, which was 40 in total) wandering in the wilderness (Num 32:13; Jos 5:6; Heb 3:17)

    The Israelites repeated the work of moving & camping 42 times over 40 yrs (Num 33) in the wilderness until they reached their final destination in Gilgal in the land of Canaan. (Jos 4:19)

    Moses flees Midian (596th Year of the Covenant)

    When Moses turned 40 yrs old, he remembered his fellow Israelites & came out to visit them (Acts 7:23).
    There, he saw an offensive scene of an Egyptian striking an Israelite, & he fatally struck the Egyptian. (Exo 2:11012; Acts 7:22-27)
    The next day, Moses found out that his deed of killing the Egyptian had been exposed.
    He fled to Midian away from the presence of Pharoah, who wanted to kill him. (Exo 2:13-15; Acts 7:28-29)

    Moses' mother was Jochebed from the tribe of Levi, & his father was Amram from the tribe of Levi.

    Moses was beautiful from birth (Exo 2:2).
    "Beautiful" signifies favorable & best in action, intelligence, & looks.

    "The new king who did not know Joseph" (Exo 1:8; Acts 7:18) is believed to be Thutmose (1539-1514 BC), the third king from the 18th Dynasty that had newly risen up by destroying the Hyksos Dynasty (the 15th, 16th, & 17th dynasties), which was from the Shemite lineage during the time when Joseph was second-in-command of Egypt

    Joseph spent most of his life in Egypt from the time he was 17 yrs old until his death @ age 110.

    This was after he worked for his uncle Laban for 7 yrs from the time he had 1st fled to Paddan-aram @ the age of 76
    Then Jacob agreed to work 7 additional yrs for Rachel & took her as a wife 7 days after the agreement
    Thus, Jacob labored a total of 14 yrs for Laban in order to have Rachel (Gen 29:27-28)

    It is estimated that Jacob was 76 yrs old & his father, Isaac, was 136 yrs old w/ eyes too dim to see b/c of old age (Gen 27:1)
    By the command of his father, Isaac, Jacob fled from his brother, Esau, to his uncle Laban's house in Paddan-aram (Gen 28:1-5)
