Birth of Nostradamus
Nostradamus was born in France on Dec 14, 1503. He was the son of a grain dealer.
Not much was known about his childhood except for the fact that he went to the University of Avignon at the age of fourteen -

Nostradamus was invited to work with the leading scholar of his time in France and married a young woman who lived in Montpellier and had a son and a daughter. -

Death of Family
Nostradamus's wife and children die of the bubonic plague. Many people looked upon him with scorn because while he treated other people who were also diagnosed he ignored his own family. His wife's family sued him to get her dowry back. After the death he spent six - seven years traveling supposedly in Italy. -

Return to France
After years of traveling Nostradamus came back to France in order to study treatments of the plague with Louis Serre a physician. Due to major flooding there was a large sanitation problem in the region, because of this there was a large outbreak of the plague -

Les Prophecies
In 1555 Nostradamus published Les Prophecies. This book contained major long term prophecies. Nostradamus felt afraid of religious persecution so he concealed the prophecies meanings by turning them into quatrains and using different languages such as greek and latin. -

In 1566 Nostradamus accuretly predicted the death of King Henry the Secound.
