The court decided that thier actions were protected by the 1st amendment under freedom of speech. The effect of this case is that the 1st amendment is held in school districts.

    The issue of this case was kids that were protesting for integreation. The court agreed with the students and said that schools should be integrated. The effect of this case was that all schools and students would be integrated and receive the same education.
  • University of California Regents v. Bakke

    The issue of this case was on the purpose of affirmative action programs and for barring the use of race for excluding an applicant in a college admissions program. The court decided that affirmative action programs were constitutional and that a system based on race was unconstitutional. The effect of this case was that they extended the gains for racial minorities and minimized white opposition through affirmative action.
