On September 9th in the year 1922 the first ever 3D film " Power Of Love" produced by Harry K Fairall was shown. This took place in the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, America.

During the years of 1952 to 1955 there was a sudden boom in 3D films. Many films like : Bwana Devil, House Of Wax, and Dial M For Murder, became hits and attracted people to watch 3D films.

Several corporations started expanding their movie options. Imax during the mid 1980's started making non fiction 3D films. Disney also starting show more and more 3D movies.

The state of Kerala made India's first ever 3D film. " My Dear Kuttichathan " loosely translated to " My Dear Little Monster" was shown on August 24th in the year 1984. This was made by the famous " Navodaya Studios ". My parents have talked about going to the theatres to watch the movie.

September in the year 2003 for two weeks the first ever " World 3D movie Expedition " took place. Many film stars, producers, studios, writers, directors and etc came. Along with that several things were screened.

During the 2010's both the audience and popularity of 3D films declined drastically, almost by 50%. This took place because of the quick rush of 3D films into the industry. Corporations decided to focus on 2D movies after coming to the conclusion people enjoy them more.
